Dear Friends,

Ron and Doris have safely returned to the United States after a new strain of Ebola recently appeared in Ituri Province, eastern DRC. The World Health Organization has declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. According to the WHO, the epidemic is “outpacing” response efforts because of armed conflict, displacement, poor infrastructure, mistrust, and attacks on health facilities in eastern Congo.

Currently, our ministry in Congo remains unaffected. Authorities in Mbandaka are educating the population on taking precautions, and travel screening has intensified.

Ron and Doris will stay in the US for medical check-ups, fundraising, and family visits, and will not return to Congo until it is Ebola-free. We are thankful to maintain regular contact with our RWI team in Mbandaka and Kinshasa through WhatsApp and email.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1: 9-11

Please pray for a fruitful ministry as these men lead God’s work in Mbandaka: Jures, Blaise, Jean Baptiste, Thomas, Papy Mokongi, and Jean Yao in their various ministries.

We are United in Love, Walking in Hope, Persevering in Faith,

Ron, Doris & the RWI team
